Things That Are Dumb: Dumb decision was almost deadly

Three teenaged camp counselors on their way home from Christ the King's summer camp were involved in a single car crash on 73rd Place and Cook Street in Middle Village the afternoon of August 14th. The 17-year old driver was speeding and her friend in the passenger seat was livestreaming her antics. One of the 2 passengers can be heard screaming on the video that she should slow down. Her plea was ignored and the vehicle ended up spinning out of control and wrapped around a light pole, with the girl who was recording ending up in critical condition with a head injury. Thankfully no one died, but this trauma is something the trio is sure to never get over. This was an avoidable accident and an important lesson for all drivers to learn.
